Prof. Angel Linares-Solano is full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, since 1982, in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry in the Science Faculty of the University of Alicante (Spain).Prof. Angel Linares-Solano received his Doctorate in Chemistry in 1974 at the University of Granada, Spain.

His research work is focused on Science and Technology of Carbonaceous Materials (preparation, characterisation and applications of activated carbons, carbon fibres and activated carbon fibres, activated carbon cloths, molecular sieves … ), Electric energy storage (supercapacitors), Gas Storage (CH4, H2, CO2 ….), Gas Separation (CH4/CO2, … ), Environment (reduction of pollutants as VOC, SO2, NOx), Gas-Solid Reactions (catalyzed carbon-gas reactions, gasification reactions, surface reactions….), Heterogeneous Catalysis (preparation and characterisation of supported catalysts, …. ) and fine Chemistry, Photocatalysis, Gas Adsorption and high pressure gas adsorption (analysis of porous solids), Characterization techniques for solids; SAXS y -SAXS, HRTEM, Superficial Chemistry of Solids, Zeolites and zeolite membranes (preparation, characterisation and applications), Carbon-ceramic and carbon-polymer composites.

He is author of 290 publications in journals, 15 book chapters and books, 420 communications in conferences, supervisor of 20 Ph.D. Thesis and 23 Master. He has participated in 98 research projects, and is co-author of 9 patents. Prof. Angel Linares-Solano is advisory board member of the journals “CARBON”, “Adsorption Science and Technology”and “FUEL”

He has been teaching and researching in several universities and research centres: Pennsylvania State University (USA, 1975-77 and 1985), the Newcastle upon Tyne University (UK, 1977 and 1990 ), Bath University (UK, 1986), Claude Bernard University and in the CNRS in Lyon (France, 1987), University of Tohoku (Sendai, Japan, 1989), University of Gunma (Japan, 1990), Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Santa Fe, Argentina, 1997), Universidad Nacional (Concepción, Chile. 1997), University of Paris XIII (CNRS, France, 1999 and 2007), Universidad Nacional (Colombia, 2008 to 2010), and at the Universities of Granada, Extremadura, and Alicante in Spain.

Prof. Angel Linares-Solano is Member of the Scientific Committee of Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) of the European Commission from January 2009, and Member of the Project Advisory Panel for the FP7 project MACADEMIA, since November 2010.

He was collaborator of the French Nacional Research Agency from February 2008 to June 2009, European Union Expert (DG Tren, EU); Technical Expert Committee and Member of the Coal Research Committee (in the area of Coal Conversion) from February 2000 to February 2004. He was also President of the Spanish Carbon Group (http://gecarbon.org) from 1999 to 2003.

Prof. Angel Linares-Solano is founder of G2M Tech and collaborates in development of new products and scientific supervision.
